Upcoming Green Revolution in Travel

Upcoming Green Revolution in Travel
Well just think about it, just for a day everybody on this planet decide not to leave their homes or not to travel, or use any man made means of transport. Well the consequence could be un-imaginable, the global economy could collapse in a day, and people could starve as food will not reach them, travel companies such as airline, train, and buses, could go bankrupt. Currently it is impossible to imaging life without transportation or travel, each day we travel to our work by various means of transport, or we travel by air for holidays and many more. It is hard to imagine life without travel; travel is one of the largest global industries. Humans have been traveling for hundreds of years, and each year new luxury, powerful and sophisticated transport vehicle is launched, currently there are  [...]

The Bicycle Diaries- Benefits all the Way

The Bicycle Diaries- Benefits all the Way
The world today is a greedy one, with people looking for benefits in the most uncanny of places. There is a mad rush wherever people are able to get more out of a single object or one move. This unfortunately, over an elongated period, has led to disastrous ends, with the world, today being little more than a shadow of what it used to be about two hundred years ago. One such disaster man seemed hell bent on imposing upon himself was to let vehicles become such an integral part of his life, that today, he is dying because of the toxic fumes that it leaks out. Another disaster that could have been averted was that of unchecked industry. There is almost no necessity to spell out how industries around the world, impact our lives today, However, this picture does not need to remain this bland,  [...]

Nuclear Energy – a questionable source of energy for our future

Nuclear Energy – a questionable source of energy for our future
We all have an idea of what must have happened in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. We also have memories of what happened in Chernobyl. These keep us quite reluctant to the thought of nuclear energy being used instead of solar energy would be unacceptable. Nuclear energy however is much cleaner than most other sources of energy being used today. The working of a nuclear power plant has a very simple principle. The nuclear fission heats water which generates steam and this steak turns turbines which later produce electricity The splitting of atoms is what nuclear fission is. While this fission takes place, there is a massive amount of heat that is produces.  The things that complicate this entire procedure are when the resources needed to control these fissions get out of control. This is when  [...]

Will work for Change

Will work for Change
Traffic-jams have now become an integral part of any city-dweller. However few they are, days without traffic are always accepted with a smile. There are an estimated 600000000 (600 millions) cars in the world today out. That is almost equivalent of 1 car for every three people on earth. Japan and USA are the leading vehicle-using countries in the world, together using more vehicles than those in the entire world. It is no surprise then that this unchecked production and use of vehicles is one of the main reasons for global warming. Cars alone produce around 25% of greenhouse gases in the USA. Greenhouse gases from cars amount for about 20% of all pollution on the planet. This results in the creation of acid rain and smog, and also worsens conditions for those suffering from asthma, lung  [...]

A Cycle-able City – Berlin

A Cycle-able City – Berlin
Cycling is a great way of commuting. Not only is it a cheap one, it is also an environment-friendly one.  But it’s not an option for many as their cities do not have proper cycling lanes on the roads. Cycling on the roads full of traffic could be risky, which limits their uses within ones locality. Berlin, however, is different. It has its attractions and monuments to look at. But there is something more to this Capital City of Germany that will make environmentalists and eco-tourists happy. Cycling around the attractions of the city is pretty easy and you can actually take a trip through it on a rented cycle, instead of a bus or a hired taxi that does burn some fuel. Here are some of the reasons that make cycling on the streets of Berlin fairly easy. They  [...]
