Energy Saving bulbs seem to be the keyword today, of course, second only to the theme of saving energy on a whole.  This phenomenon is becoming a craze of such epic proportions, that certain countries are already working on projects to completely do away with the energy guzzling halogen or the standard light bulbs that are in use. It has been found out that while the bulb itself is costlier than the regular kind, at a price of $5 more, there is a saving of as much as $30 from the use of this bulb over the other bulb that could have been used.

A lot many people do not know why these bulbs are as famous and as popular as they are. For starters, these energy saving bulbs are capable of saving up on as much as eighty percent of all of the energy that would have been used by a normal bulb. But if you thought this is the end of the advantages of changing over to the energy saving bulbs, you could not be more mistaken. This variety of bulbs is known to last as much as ten times the amount of time a regular or standard bulb would. How is that offer long lasting bulbs?

The energy saving bulb makes a saving also in the amount of electricity it employs while being used: while the regular bulb makes use of as much as sixty watts of energy, the other kind makes use of as little as only sixteen watts of energy.
